Microsoft recently launched Outlook.com intending to migrate there, gradually, all users of Hotmail. For help they decide, Outlook.com has a very striking appearance and, according to Microsoft, with significant improvements in relation to safety.
Users who want to and make the transition from Hotmail to Outlook.com just must:
Open your Hotmail account.
Go to the options menu and select upgrade to Outlook, to then click on upgrade to Outlook.
Ready! your Hotmail account has been upgraded to Outlook.com.
It is important to remember that the change to Outlook.com does not imply that you are switched automatically from @hotmail.com to @outlook.com. To change the e-mail from @hotmail.com by the @outlook.com it is necessary:
Click on the settings icon and select more options of mail configuration.
Go to manage your account and press to change the name of your email address (it is very likely that is required to log in to the account).
Ready! The account already migrated to @Outlook.com
To update the account contacts, photos and Office documents in SkyDrive that user had in Hotmail, will be transferred to the new ID (within a period of a few days), being added automatically to Outlook.com. On the other hand, to enable the account with the ID Outlook.com Microsoft argues that they will continue to receive messages that are sent to your Hotmail address.
Change to Outlook.com occurs, new messages will go to the Inbox and the old (those who arrived when the domain was @hotmail.com), may be kept separate in a separate folder.
Although settings is the option to return to Hotmail, Microsoft has not offered an answer for those who decide not to move to Outlook.com. However, chances are that at some point everyone should migrate to Outlook.com.
